Applies to lab work as well. I find I need large blocks of time for intellectual work like writing grants and papers, (or even do experiments on occasion), but then I have to fit that within a manager's schedule of meeting people or dealing with my technician's problems.
Not necessity, not desire--no, the love of power is the demon of men. Let them have everything--health, food, a place to live, entertainment--they are and remain unhappy and low-spirited: for the demon waits and waits and will be satisfied.
